Chuck's test results
-
Write throughput results
-
This document tells the story of an exploration of
write throughput using the Linux NFS client with
a Linux NFS server and a Network Appliance filer.
I used the Bonnie file system benchmark in various forms
to measure sequential write performance.
This test measures how quickly an application
can write 8192 byte chunks into a fresh file.
-
Close-to-open cache consistency
-
This document reports on work to improve the Linux NFS
client's close-to-open cache consistency behavior.
The Linux kernel's directory entry cache is designed
differently than other VFS layers' vnode cache,
requiring special treatment in the Linux NFS client.
